| In recent years there has been much concern with the state of parenting and families in New Zealand. Not satisfied with just adding a voice to the concern and criticism that was being aired publicly, the Anglican Diocese of Wellington felt that it could make a positive difference. And so in June 2007 i-care parenting was launched. The majority of parents in New Zealand do a good job. Although they might not need 'help', they can still benefit from support and encouragement. i-care parenting exists to resource, encourage and enable churches to support parents and their families. One of the ways it does this is through this website - by providing practical information on parenting courses, resources and activities for families and whanau on offer in the lower North Island. i-care parenting works with churches in the Anglican Diocese of Wellington (which covers the lower half of the North Island), resourcing, encouraging and enabling them to provide support for parents and families in their local communities. |
