The Marriage Course is very practical, giving any married couple the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. There is no time limit for how long you have been married in order to attend the course – some participants have been married for over 30 years, others less than 2 years. It’s beneficial for those whose marriage is already strong and it helps out those who are going through difficulties. While the course is based on Christian principles, couples with or without a church background are welcome.
Over seven nights spent together, couples talk about important issues such as communication, conflict, parents and in-laws and sex. Evenings are relaxed, and include a meal or supper. Short talks are interspersed with exercises for you to do together as a couple. Homework is given at the end of each night to do together before the next session – it isn’t marked, it’s for your benefit!

The Marriage Preparation Course is for engaged couples who want to develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage. The course is for any engaged couple who want to work at having the best possible start to their marriage. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been engaged, or whether you’ve set a wedding date yet. Couples who have been living together for a while have also used the course to explore the idea of getting married. The course is based on Christian principles and is run by Christians but you don’t have to be a Christian or have a church background to attend.
Over five evenings spent together couples explore topics including conflict, goals and values, communication and sex. Evenings are very relaxed. There is a meal or supper followed by short talks interspersed with exercises and questions for you to discuss together as a couple, and at the end of each session homework is given to help you build on what you have learnt (don’t worry, it’s not checked!).
