A Practical Strategy for Positive Parenting
By Tim Kimmel
Set of 3 DVD’s: – contains the 8 sessions covered
Parents Workbook: - emphasises the practical application of the DVD lessons
This course is intended for either home use or for use in a group setting. There is a downloadable Leaders Guide in pdf format on one of the DVD’s
Parents – there is quite a lot of biblical content so would probably suit a home group or group of parents from a church community.
There is no stated aim of the course in the workbook. There is however a large amount of scriptural examples used so presumably the aim is to encourage families to grow together using Christian principals.
Each DVD session is approximately 20 minutes long. Following the DVD there are study questions in the workbook which review the dvd, a discussion guide with questions, personal application questions, and scripture relating to the topic.

There is no typical session laid out in the book as this material has been designed with home use in mind. It also would suit small groups in informal settings and could work well for a home group or group of parents who are parenting the same age group at the same time. Basically you watch the dvd and cover the material and questions in the workbook. A leader can download a Leaders Guide if a group requires this.
No cost are required as it is not designed as a formal parenting course. It is not advised that you charge anything if it is used in a group setting.
It is a strongly biblically based course for parents who want to align their parenting with scripture
It is a resource for groups of parents, perhaps in a church community, who would like to explore parenting together
After watching the DVD it has an easy to follow workbook with questions and personal application – it is not a complicated or time-consuming study
