Hello Gran Hucklesby, Hope
Dogger Hughes, Shirley Dave is miserable and life just isn't the same. But then, at the school fete, Dave spots Dogger on the white elephant stand. Can someone help him retrieve Dogger before the toy is sold? Simple and heartwarming, it shows the effect a favourite toy can have on a child, and most touching of all - for me, at least - the act of sibling kindness.
Samantha Jane's Missing Smile Kaplow, Julie Samantha Jane misses her father very much. Sometimes the sadness feels so big she is afraid to let herself feel it. Sammy Jane is also worried about her mother, and whether they are all going to be happy again someday. But then she feels guilty. Is it right to feel happy when her father can't be here to enjoy life, too?
Boss of the Pool Klein, Robin Boss of the Pool is a touching story about what a girl thinks about a retarded boy and how she acts. This book shows that people change over time. It also teaches people not to make fun of other people because they are different. It is a great book by this amazingly excellent Robin Klein. It is suitable for ages 9 and over, anyone younger won't understand it. Though anyone at the age of 9 and over would think of it as a book as good as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory .
