The facilitators keep to a pretty fast, tight timetable which this makes the session fun for the teenagers.

First there is a welcome and quick ice breaker game

The session is presented by the two facilitators using PowerPoint, roll play examples, group and individual exercises and group discussion

At the end of the session, participants are asked to try some of the new skills outlined during the week and are given a fridge magnet to remind them of that week’s homework.

Supper and a time to chat follow the session.

Why use this Course?

This course is unique because both parents AND teenagers do the course together, learning the same skills, which can then be tried out at home.

The people skills learnt on the course are applicable to both teenagers AND their parents.

The course does not have any Christian content and can be run for school groups, youth groups, community centers or anywhere there is a need. It can be a non-threatening way for churches to provide a service to the community or for church members to invite people outside the church community

The course can be tailored to include a biblical perspective as the material is in keeping with biblical values

The course is fast-paced and includes games and activities which keep the teenagers interested
