LOVED 4 LIFE™

LOVED 4 LIFE™ was founded in Te Horo, New Zealand, in August 2007, by Marcia Guest. 

It connects families to the community after the birth of a baby and aims to grow parents’ skills to raise ‘great kids’.

LOVED 4 LIFE™ is inter-denominational and has 50+ volunteers from communities and various churches (Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and Catholic).  In 2009, LOVED 4 LIFE™ Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 5 were established under regional church leaders in Otaki, Waikanae, and Roseneath / Mt Victoria, Wellington. We have a central national LOVED 4 LIFE™ planning team, and many volunteers play a big part in each community to run LOVED 4 LIFE™ in their own regions.

Our Vision  

Our Vision is to positively impact families. 

Our goal is that every NZ child will be LOVED 4 LIFE™ and that parents will have the skills to make this happen.

How it all happens ....Quilts, Meals, Education

1. A special “LOVED” quilt is made for each new baby that is born into the community.  We hand deliver the quilt as a gift to the family.

2. A meal is made and delivered to the family of a new baby over the first busy weeks after the child is born.

3. Workshops are run for parents of children of all ages by experienced facilitators and coaches.

4. Pure wool garments are knitted for premature babies and these are gifted to parents who have an unexpected early arrival.

What is in it for families?

They feel loved and supported and know that they belong to a caring community.

Parents enjoy meeting other parents and members of the community at the LOVED 4 LIFE™ education workshops and social events. 

Parents feel affirmed and learn new skills.

Children are loved and nurtured; families, the community and New Zealand thrive.
